Links to sites and builders that I felt were useful information
- Unofficial Cozy Webpage - Site is run by Marc Zeitlin who has become the official support for Cozy builders through Aircraft Spruce. This is the best place to first go to for all Cozy information.
- Cozy Builders Mailing List - This is the Google group where all messages are posted. You can search the archives from this page to check for past answers to questions. A good place to check before posting a question about something that was already covered.
- Aircraft Spruce - Gotta get your supplies and plans from somewhere. This tends to be the main shopping source for supplies and is the only place to buy the plans.
- Wicks Aircraft - Another supply site. You can get most supplies here as well, but they do not sell the plans.
- Cozy Girrrls - Builders that came to the rescue when a source of parts left the scene. They sell most of the machined parts needed for the plane and other supplies. Their site also has a lot of good info and ideas for building the Cozy.
- Cozy Aircraft - Some basic information on the plane.
- Cozy Links - A great site that has a search engine for the online message forum, builder's pages by chapter, and other useful information. A good site for searching questions you have before asking the group (it may have been answered once before).
- Canard Calendar - A site run by Erlend Moen. He collects images from all over and makes them into desktop calendars. I even got a few images posted! If you're going to build this plane, might as well have a pretty image to look at while working to motivate you to build.
- Eureka CNC - This is a builder who made himself a CNC hotwire cutter for himself, but did it so well that he now offers pre-cut wings and other parts. His price is very reasonable, gives you a very accurate foam core, and will save a considerable amount of time on the build. If you're looking to save time, this is a good way to do so.
- Drills And Cutters - This site is a great place to purchase the wire size drill bits that you will need in various places. You can also get reamers for when you have to make the precision holes. Prices are very reasonable.
- John Slade - His site is full of wonderful info throughout the build. Also entertaining to read as well. He has one of the few flying Mazda rotary engines on a canard. It was later sold, but the site is still up for reference.
- Bernard Siu - This is an example of fine craftsmanship and a lot of good ideas. I hope to make my site as useful as his, though I realize I'm not building at the same level he is. This is the one that I probably reference the most.
- Wayne Hicks - Another great site with lots of good info on the build process. He came up with some of the construction techniques used by many others (including us).
- Jerry Schneider - A good site that covers things such as using the Texas Canopy and doing the extended strake mod. He also has a very entertaining style to his site. He also sold off his plane, but continues to have the site for reference.
- John Basol - Another good site with lots of pictures and a fair explanation of the process. His plane came out very nicely and is something I hope mine can aspire to be. I even got to meet the Basol family at Oshkosh one year!
- Al Wick - Though not an extensive site, nor does it cover the build process, it does contain some good info on doing a Subaru engine install as well as how to make your own monitor system that covers the engine and more. I'm considering both of these things for our construction.
- Phillip Johnson - Decent amount of information with some unique engineering data. He is also doing a Subaru build and has a lot of good information. His plane is a very modified version with full retracts, the auto engine, a variable NACA duct, and the front hinge canopy with gull wing passenger entrance. His work is very good though and a fine example.
